BodyTech Physiotherapy was created out of a desire to improve the quality of physiotherapy care in the city of Kitchener. By providing high quality, advanced manual therapy treatment to our clients, we are dedicated to offering the most up to date evidence based treatment.

We believe in educating our clients to complement their understanding and therefore response to treatment and aid in injury prevention. Our approach is based on active participation, therefore exercise will be an important part of all treatments. BodyTech Physiotherapy is owned and operated by Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) an organization of the International Federation of Manipulative Physical Therapists dedicated to providing the highest level of quality care. All of our physiotherapists have completed or are working towards completing their Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Therapy. This advanced training enhances assessment and treatment skills, and allows our physiotherapists to treat any orthopaedic or musculoskeletal injury for people of all ages.

Vanessa Rampersad

Vanessa graduated from the University of Waterloo where she completed her Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. After graduating from the University of Waterloo, Vanessa went on to obtain her Master of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto in 2007. She received her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, Orthopedic Division in 2012 and became a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT). Additionally, Vanessa has a strong interest in exercise science and is a member of the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist with a High Performance Specialization to work with high performing athletes. Vanessa has further enhanced her skills by completing her a certification with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute. Vanessa has completed her training in Pelvic Health as well.

To further her education and skills, Vanessa has continued to complete courses on a regular basis and regularly mentors physiotherapy students and physiotherapists. She has completed courses on athletic rehabilitation and neuro-proprioceptive taping, mobilization of the nervous system, core stability, and myofascial mobilization. She has assisted and taught courses in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of shoulder injuries. Vanessa also provides physiotherapy for post breast cancer patients. Prior to becoming a Physiotherapist, Vanessa worked as a personal trainer and loves working with athletes. Furthermore, Vanessa is a member of Sports Physiotherapy Canada and has provided sport coverage for multiple sports including figure skating with Skate Canada, soccer, and ultimate frisbee at various levels of competition.

As an advanced manual physiotherapist, Vanessa is trained to treat all musculoskeletal conditions with any age group and continues to pursue her passion for being a physiotherapist. In her free time, Vanessa enjoys participating in recreational activities including ultimate frisbee, skiing and hiking.

Cheryl Reid Ralph

Cheryl, originally resided in Newfoundland, graduated from Acadia University in Wolfville, Nova Scotia where she completed her Bachelor of Science in Biology (2001). After graduating from Acadia University, Cheryl went on to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia in 2004. She received her Diploma of Advanced Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, Orthopedic Division in 2012 and became a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT). In 2015, Cheryl obtained her Diploma in Canine Rehabilitation from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association Animal Rehab division.

Cheryl initially worked in Chester, Nova Scotia for 5 ½ years at a private practice clinic. After moving to Ontario in 2009, she continued to work at a private practice in Guelph. With years of experience as orthopaedic physiotherapist, Cheryl felt she was ready to further develop her passion for orthopaedics and manual therapy. With the help and support of family, friends and clients she decided it was time to open her own physiotherapy clinic to pursue her own professional goals.

Since graduating, Cheryl has continued to complete courses to further her orthopaedic and manual therapy skills. She has completed level 1 acupuncture, neuro-proprioceptive taping, a Shirley Sahrmann course on diagnosis and treatment of movement dysfunction and a Paul Hodges course focusing on core stability. Cheryl has also completed a course on gait analysis to help with improving assessment of running injuries.

As a manual physiotherapist, Cheryl is trained to treat all musculoskeletal conditions of the body and is very passionate about her profession. In her free time Cheryl enjoys running, playing with her dog and exploring the many trails of the Grand River Region.

Heather Dayarathna

Heather grew up in Kitchener before moving to London, Ontario to complete her education. She graduated from Western University with a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Honours Specialization in Rehabilitation Sciences) in 2017 and a Master of Physical Therapy in 2019. She then returned to the KW region, working in private practice. She studied at Western once more in 2023 to complete the Master of Clinical Science in Advanced Health Care Practice (Comprehensive Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy), becoming a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT). She has continued to pursue additional education in other areas, including courses in concussion management and exercise prescription. Heather is also the Secretary on the executive committee for the Kitchener-Waterloo District of the Ontario Physiotherapy Association.

Heather is trained to treat musculoskeletal conditions in individuals of all ages. She is dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centred care, focusing on the use of education, exercise, and manual therapy to help guide her patients towards their goals and get them back to what they love. She has an interest in treating patients with various orthopaedic and neurological conditions, with a special interest in concussion management, sports injury rehabilitation, and post-operative care (including treating patients post-breast cancer).

In her spare time, Heather enjoys spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys running, working out, reading, and playing sports such as soccer and ultimate frisbee.

Suzan Ibrahim

Suzan grew up in the KW region where she completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Honours Health Sciences from Wilfrid Laurier. She then went on to complete her Master's of Physical Therapy from the University of Western Ontario. Since graduating, Suzan has received her Level 1 certification in manual therapy and hopes to continue advancing her skills and knowledge.

She strongly believes in a patient-centered approach to care. Her ultimate goal is to help guide clients through their recovery and get them back to doing what they love. Suzan's treatment style includes a combination of personalized exercise, education, and manual therapy. She aims for clients to take an active role in their care by empowering them with the right tools.

When Suzan isn't working, you'll find her laughing with family and friends, being outdoors and trying new foods. As a lifelong learner she often finds herself learning a new skill or trying a new activity to keep busy and active!

She looks forward to working with you during your recovery and learning about how she can best help you.

Aden Green

Aden completed her Masters of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Toronto and holds an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Bio-Medical Science from the University of Guelph. Aden has always had an interest in anatomy and realized that physiotherapy was the path she wanted to take as it allowed her to combine her interests while also directly helping others.

Aden incorporates both a hands on and active approach to treatment with manual therapy and individualized exercise prescription. Aden's goal is to empower her clients along the way through ongoing education to equip them with the right tools so that they can take control of their rehab and continue to confidently self-manage their injury.

Aden currently has completed Level 1 of the manual therapy level courses and plans to continue to advance through the level system. She has also completed an introductory course in dry needling and acupuncture.

Aden is eager to listen to your story and learn why you seek physiotherapy to help get you moving and feeling better so that you can return to the activities that are important to you!

In her spare time Aden enjoys playing hockey, skiing and going backcountry camping.

Aniga Sharma

Physiotherapist Resident

Aniga graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and recently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Factors and Ergonomics from Conestoga College. She also brings international experience working in a hospital setting in India, where she gained hands-on exposure to diverse patient populations and a variety of clinical conditions. This experience shaped her holistic approach to physiotherapy, emphasizing both effective treatment and prevention of future injuries.

In her practice, Aniga combines hands-on manual therapy with individualized exercise programs, tailoring each plan to the client's specific needs and goals. She has completed AIM Level 1 and is actively pursuing higher levels to further enhance her skills. She has a particular interest in pelvic floor physiotherapy and dry needling and strives to use evidence-based techniques to help clients regain strength, mobility, and confidence.

Aniga is committed to empowering her clients through education, ensuring they have the tools and knowledge to actively participate in their rehabilitation and maintain long-term wellness. She believes in creating a supportive, motivating environment where every client feels heard and guided throughout their recovery journey.

Outside of work, Aniga loves exploring new food and places and finds joy in connecting with people and discovering new experiences.

Poojaben Popat

Pooja completed her four-and-a-half years Bachelor's degree in India, where she discovered her passion for musculoskeletal, neurological rehabilitation, and women's health physiotherapy. Following her graduation, in late 2018, Pooja moved to Canada to pursue further studies. Prior to her move, she gained valuable experience by working at a private physiotherapy clinic for nearly a year. Since then, her journey has taken her from being a Physiotherapy Assistant to a Resident PT, and now a registered Physiotherapist.

In her pursuit of continuous learning and skill development, Pooja completed the Fitness and Health Promotion course at Georgian College, Barrie, as well as The Physical Therapy approach to anyone experiencing Urinary incontinence Level 1 from Pelvic Health Solution. She has an interest in pursuing Manual Therapy and Acupuncture courses to expand her knowledge and skills.

Pooja's approach to physiotherapy is driven by passion. She firmly believes that every client and their injury are unique, and, as such, she tailors each therapy session to the individual using a combination of manual therapy and exercise prescription. Her philosophy revolves around taking an active approach to therapy, encouraging clients to actively participate and become empowered in their recovery journey.

During her free time, Pooja stays active with yoga, hiking, and traveling, channeling her determination into her pursuits. She also cherishes her love for nature and enjoys sunshine. Furthermore, Pooja is multilingual and speaks Gujarati, Hindi, and English.

Cassidy Wettlaufer

Cassidy is a well-rounded practitioner who appreciates a holistic approach to your care which is why she chose the path of Massage Therapy where. Her massage therapy knowledge along with her background in Nursing gives her the tools to put all the pieces together to uncover the root cause of your pain. Cassidy grew up in the KW region playing competitive sports both locally and at the provincial level with the Ontario Women's Fastball Team for several consecutive seasons. Being a competitive athlete and having a background in Nursing, Cassidy understands the impact everyday stressors can place on the body. She understands pain is a complex condition which varies greatly for each individual which is why she works closely with her patients and other members of the interdisciplinary team to create a truly individualized treatment plan.

Whether looking for a general wellness/relaxation massage or if you are experiencing a more complex problem, Cassidy is eager to assist you on your path to wellness to get you back to enjoying the things you love to do most, pain free of course!

Outside of work, Cassidy enjoys the outdoors with family and friends including skiing in the winter and discovering new hiking trails and beaches with her two labs in the summer.

Nik Panagos

Nik grew up in Kitchener Ontario before moving to and graduating in 2018 from Westervelt College in London. He later then moved back to Kitchener to practice in his home city. Nik utilizes therapeutic massage and advanced massage therapy techniques which allows him to effectively treat a wide variety of conditions and individuals. Nik has clinically focused on trigger point therapy, TMJ dysfunction, concussion management, sports injury, and motor vehicle accidents.

Nik is also registered with the Canadian Sport Massage Therapists Association as a Sport Candidate Member. He has worked alongside many athletes throughout his career and is now pursuing his fellowship with Sports Massage Therapy. Being a Sport Candidate Member he works with pre, during, and post care of athletes training and games to allow for faster and enhanced recovery.

Nik has spent his professional career in multidisciplinary clinics alongside physiotherapists, and other health professionals. Working with a wide variety of health care professionals has allowed for a complete and patient tailored treatment plan for each case. Nik enjoys the challenge that each new case brings, improving his practice with each patient treated.

In his spare time, Nik enjoys motorsports, bowling, hiking, and strength training. If he is not participating in physical activities, he can be found in the kitchen cooking delicious and satisfying dishes from a wide variety of different cuisines.

Stephanie has been teaching Stott Pilates for over 20 years. Her training and certifications in pilates vary from multi level group classes with small equipment (like a fitness ball or fitness band) to specialized one on one sessions focusing on specific goals for the individual. She has worked with people recovering from injuries, trauma, pre and post natal, and also those who want to advance your general well being with strength, flexibility and range of motion. Stephanie teaches both mat and reformer pilates. She loves working with clients to help them enhance their sense of well being and confidence in their movement. Pilates is a great tool for everyone!

Jessica joined the BodyTech team in March 2018. She has a background in personal training in addition to a wealth of customer service experience in the health and fitness industry. Her education in Human Resource and Management Studies lends well to our administrative team. Jessica enjoys spending her free time training hard at the gym, running and soaking up the outdoors.

Lori is a recent graduate from the Medical Office Practice Program at Conestoga College. She has many years' experience in reception and other various office roles. She enjoys art, reading, and spending time with family. She recently took up jogging and is trying to maintain a healthy active lifestyle in hopes of being a good role model for her family. Lori is excited to be a part of the BodyTech team.

Kayla is always up for a good laugh and tries to see the humour in almost every situation. In her spare time she enjoys watching movies, doing yoga and taking care of her plants.

Janice has many years of experience in the Telecom and customer service industry. Janice enjoys interacting with people. She spends her spare time running with friends and training to stay fit. Janice especially loves to spend time with her husband and many beloved pets.
